Inventory and Purchasing Specialist

We’re seeking an analytical and precise individual who demands accuracy and overcomes challenges.

Required Skills
  • Strong background in horticulture or green industry.
  • Provides accurate reports, inventory, and data entry.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and general computer use.
  • Strong negotiation skills and prior experience working with suppliers.
  • Accurate and timely work that produces quality results and products.
  • Strong writing skills and Adobe InDesign and Illustrator experience.
  • Working knowledge of plant production and propagation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in horticulture, biology, etc.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior inventory management with a perennial plant nursery.
  • Certified Green Industry Professional (CGIP).
Position Insight
  • This position’s focus is inventory management for all our product lines.
  • Orders plant material and works with suppliers to maintain high quality standards at the best value.
  • Provides regular updates of plant statuses and readiness to internal and external customers.
  • Updates website, plant tags, catalog, and other marketing materials.
  • Works closely with Production Manager and manages production department in his/her absence.

Compensation
  • Hourly pay range $13.81-$22.34, plus time and half for overtime.
