Founded in 1901, New Trier Township High School District 203 is a comprehensive four-year high school in Northfield and Winnetka, Illinois, along the Lake Michigan shore and approximately 16 miles north of Chicago.
New Trier High School's Winnetka Campus Facilities Project, completed during the summer of 2017 and certified LEED Gold in 2019, includes a custom-grown green roof with several plant mixes.
The building's two green roofs feature functioning patio areas and offer practical benefits including vegetation that reduces air pollution, energy conservation, and extended roof life.

The rooftop amenity area features LiveRoof Standard and Deep modules integrated with a pedestal paver system. The roof is accessible to students, facility and visitors and features a shade system to help keep the area comfortable during the summer months. The LiveRoof system features a number of unique green roof accent plants – Carex, Schizachyrium, Yucca, and Muhlenbergia to name a few!
