Required Skills:
- Five to ten years of experience in multiple company financial accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting.
- Good communication skills in both verbal and written aspects to properly ensure that financial planning and record keeping is conveyed to staff and CPA firm.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel software programs.
- Is or is able to become a registered Notary.
- Computer skills are necessary for accounting, correspondence, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Must be a lifetime learner.
- Must have an aptitude for personnel management.

Essential Functions:
Core Accounting Functions
- Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Updates annual cost accounting system to ensure accurate product costs.
- Cross checks pricing following updates.
- Increases everyone’s awareness of the financial picture of the businesses.
- Maintains the financial reporting and general ledger for Hortech Inc., LiveRoof LLC, LiveRoof Global LLC, LiveWall LLC, Norb lighting LLC., Hortech Properties LLC, and Steadfast Shipping LLC.
- Manage all bank accounts daily and reconcile accounts monthly, including deposits.
- Develops, implements, and improves accounting procedures to enhance workflow and financial stability.
- Oversees credit limits and customer payment terms and communicates with sales staff regarding customer’s status.
- Works with all managers to achieve financial goals and objectives.
- Ensures the timely processing of all monthly, quarterly and yearly taxes including payroll, sales & use tax for multiple states and corporate taxes.
- Manages international banking transactions.
- Collaborates on annual budgets.
- Works with the CPA firm to ensure a clean and timely year-end review.
- Maintains fixed assets and inventory reports including acquisitions and retirements.
- Works directly with the general manager in composing cash flow and budget projections, financial analysis and reports, communicating with lenders, and planning meetings and social functions.
- Oversees and signs off on Lein Waivers for certain construction projects.
Office Manager
- Coordinates with General Managers, and administrates purchasing of general liability, property, and fleet insurance.
- Maintains intellectual property, and files for trademarks and patents.
- Assists General Manager with property acquisitions and sale including but not limited to writing and filing deeds, writing lease agreements, communicating and meeting with contractors for estimates, appraisals or removals. Communicate with owners or their representatives on purchases or questions.
- Reviews accuracy of payroll (bi-weekly).
- Assists other managers in record keeping related to sales, purchasing, claims, inventory, and personnel.
- Assists sales staff when establishing credit procedures and credit lines for customers.
- Is credit card contact if company cards are compromised.
- Oversees telephone system and copier leases.
- Maintains office supplies and reviews credit card purchases for all staff.
- Picks up and distributes mail.
- Helps to establish good company morale.

- Must convey a clear future state of company focus and direction.
- Interested in plants and horticulture and must be committed to a career in management of a horticultural business.
- Is responsible for fielding communication from rental property tenants (3 residential homes) and providing it to our facility manager. And, is responsible for posting openings and assisting in vetting tenants when there is a vacancy.
